I remember playing with cheap versions of potholder looms as a kid. This is anything but those looms. The frame is sturdy with smooth enameling. The loops fit well on the frame without easily becoming dislodged. And the included crochet hook was , not the plastic one I had expected.Wanting to introduce my 6-year-old granddaughter to weaving, I bought two of these quality looms--one to gift to her for Christmas, and one for me to demonstrate to her what to do.On Christmas Day, the loom was one of the gifts she picked to bring with her to visit family.Usually at that gathering the cousins are boisterous and busy, but this Christmas an unusual quiet descended. So I went to investigate. And I found them intently weaving with both looms, with the 6-year-old teaching her older cousins how to weave! The parents commented on how engaged they were in what was a new craft for each of them.Later that afternoon I bound off the potholder they completed, which granddaughter gave to her mom.I deducted a point in this review for the weaving hook. I don't recall using one years ago. It tends to get stuck in various ways when young hands use it (and sometimes older hands, too), though it does make stretching the loops easier when a row of weaving is finished.The cousins obviously had a good time playing with these quality looms. In anticipation I had ordered an extra package of bright loops, which turned out to be a good call--they enjoyed exploring and picking colors.A tradition was passed this Christmas, as a very satisfying gift that was very much enjoyed!...
